The Oil Spill

One April 27, 2010, there was a crude oil spill that led into the Gulf of Mexico. They claimed 11 were lost. This oil spill is effecting the economy, because just last week gas prices have been rising. It has also been ruining the wildlife in the water and outside the water. Have you ever seen the Dawn commercial of the animals getting cleaned off from oil spills? That makes me sad, because it shouldn't have happened in the first place. It is happening outside the water because some animals drink that water in some way, because all waters lead to an ocean. In my opinion offshore mining should be banned. Oil is one of our resources, and we need it. We could also live without it too. I think gas prices will continue to rise until they find another resource. Website Dawn Comerical

My "Green" House

When I get old enough to buy my own house my energy will be solar energy, because it is very cheap after you make the solar panels. The sun will never dye out and will always be shinning. Even if it is hidden my solar panel have stored energy from the past, and no matter what happens I will have energy till the sun comes back out and then it will make more energy for my lovely modernize home. The sun makes oxygen and food so I can have a garden. There are a few disadvantages though one is the cost it takes to make the solar panels and then to put them together and on. The position of the sun is a disadvantage, but you can over come this. I can fix these disadvantages by puting out a little money to save the lovely earth, and the position of the sun you can't help. Energy Sources

Should the United States encourage Green Technology like solar and wind power? My answer is yes, because solar and wind energy are clean and environmentally friendly. They are both renewable and they will never run out. The sun won't burn out like a light bulb and the wind will never stop blowing. These sources will reduce the impact on the earth. Also another green technology is geothermal and that is the heat that comes out from the earth. It doesn't hurt the planet and it is also renewable. Wind, solar, and geothermal are great for the planet but they are expensive to convert them to electricity, but I would rather spend a little more and save our planet, than have our great, great, GREAT grandchildren living on a resource-hungry planet! Everyone needs to help our planet. Creating solar, wind, and geothermal energy will help.

Genetics and Heredity Blog

Everyone says my mom and I look so much alike, but we really don't we just have the same color hair. I actually look a lot like my dad. Although i did get my cleft chin and curly hair from my mom, but the other things like no widows peak, ear lopes not attached, and hair on fingers from my dad. The color of my dads hair is black and my mom has red hair. The red is recessive and the black is dominate, but my sister and I didn't get black hair. I got red and she got blonde, so i don't know what happened there. The other dominate things that I have from my parents are free ear lobes, hair on fingers, curly hair, and cleft chin. The recessive things are no widows peak and no dimples.

My First Blog

This year in science class has been very fun, but one of my favorites is what we are learning now. We are learning about heredity and it is so interesting. You get to see what you got from your parents and what they carried on by there parents. Right now we are having to do a class project, and what you have to do is pick a partner that is the other gender of your pet that you made, then your going to make babies but by doing that you have to make there traits. It all depends on what your genes are. We have two girls and four boys, they aren't the cutest bunch, because im not the best at drawing, but they are still cute in a way. I can't wait to learn more interesting things in science class, and hopefully I will do good on my test!
